LACSEA - an interdisciplinary meeting focusing on recent advances in analytical laser spectroscopy, (i.e. on the development of new laser-analytical principles) but also on new components, systems and new applications.

The Laser Applications to Chemical, Security, and Environmental Analysis Topical meeting (LACSEA) - Laser-based detection of chemical species for combustion sensing, atmospheric sensing, and chemical and biological agent sensing is an exciting and growing area of scientific interest. The rapid development of laser technologies as well as data analysis tools are paving the way for performing real-time analysis and control of various environments a reality. These developments gave birth to a number of interesting applications in very challenging environments that provide exciting perspective and opens new horizons in many areas of measurement and technology.

Laser-based technologies and analysis tools play a key role in chemical, biological, and environmental sensing. This interdisciplinary meeting will focus on recent advances in analytical laser spectroscopy, i.e. on the development of new laser-analytical principles but also on new components, systems and new applications. The conference covers laser spectroscopy research areas related to the detection of chemical and biological molecules, atmospheric sensing, and combustion sensing for real-time analysis and control. Laser sources can cover a broad wavelength range from VUV to THz as well as a broad pulse range from CW to pico- and femtosecond duration. Our latest push is improved data retrieval techniques, like laser analytical lab-on-chip systems, distributed laser optical sensor networks and new laser analytical instrumentation from optical and micro-optical laser based systems using chemical analysis and monitoring. LACSEA is a great platform for new, innovative analytical applications of optical methods.
