MIRcat-QT™ Rapid-Scan, Ultra-Broadly Tunable Mid-IR Laser

The new MIRcat-QT adds high-speed tuning, higher spectral repeatability, improved thermal management, and longer-wavelength options to the field-proven MIRcat laser system. A true one-box, fully automated system, MIRcat-QT’s flexible, modular design allows users to factory-configure their system for up to four pulsed or CW/pulsed modules, upgrade it later, or add a visible aiming beam. Uniquely configurable for either pulsed or continuous wave (CW) operation, MIRcat offers a tuning range to >900 cm-1 (> 6 microns), and a new option extending coverage to 14 microns. MIRcat-QT also delivers uncompromised, industry-leading performance in application-critical areas. This includes: tuning speeds to > 5000 cm-1/s; CW RIN as low as -150 dBc/Hz; peak powers up to 1W; average powers up to 0.5W, and wavelength repeatability < 0.1 cm-1. With this tuning speed, MIRcat-QT can tune > 900 cm-1 (> 6μm) in just hundreds of ms. MIRcat-QT also produces a single TEM00 output beam and total beam pointing <1 mrad over the tuning range, which enables high-efficiency fiber coupling.
